Analysis of Halloween

Walt Sisikin 1953 (Santiago)

Halloween
Another Halloween, a special day indeed
It is scary, it is special, it is sweet and yet the advice meted out we don’t heed
Such is our spirit, to listen to what other people say
Is not for us to obey
On this special day, we must be renegades
Not obey and do as others delegate
We must do what we want
If we don’t, it is not special we must taunt
All of the good within us should be redirected
Our misbehavior should be on display, to be monstrously detected
Once every year our emotions we can display
They can be fear, happiness, badness, cruelty and others you may choose, such is this day
This is why we dress in costume of our choice
To impress, scare, make someone laugh and not be recognizable when we do our ploys
Trick or treat, which one would you prefer?
