Analysis of Waves

Reaching up from beneath the waves
Reflecting on how my Jesus saves
Nowhere on earth the same is found
By these chains no longer bound

Rising up from beneath the waves
Reflecting on my Jesus’ face
He pulled me out from beneath the depths
A secrecy no longer kept

Looking down upon the waves
All I see is pain and slaves
Oh come to him and rest your head
You are free because he bled

Resting now among the waves
I am free by an empty grave
I will forever seek his face
For I am saved by amazing grace

About this poem

I wrote this in a matter of 10 minutes sitting in the parking lot of my church and it’s kind of special to me.
