Analysis of The good fight
Charles Fields II 1955 (Fort Bragg, NC)
If a complement
is worth 50 cents
You’d have
my last dollar
With
no suspense.
Some might
take me for a fool
But i’d certainly be one
Not
to recognize you
for what
you are;
A rare
and precious jewel
You cannot take me
Or hold me against my will
And certainly
Never control me
But
if you ask me
nicely
