Analysis of Freedom of thought
Mya Snyder 2004
Tear your heart into pieces so it can look just like mine
And I’ll show you no weakness so you can see what it’s like
Scared and confused
What can it be
My minds been playing me
These words are don’t mean shit to to you
Maybe it’s because I’m through
Maybe it was the way I walked or talk
Maybe it was that
But I can sit here and be treated and hurt like I’m some object
My hearts in pieces and you won’t let me see the light
I can’t fight because I know I’ll lose
But I fight because I know I can cheat death
It’s contradicting
But it works
My life has turned for the worse
All in one I’m alone
My family no longer gives me a feeling sense of home
My minds always wanting to roam
My body never feels like it’s home
In my heart and soul
My body doesn’t feel whole
It feels trapped
In this pit of despair
My mind is no longer there
Goodbye to my sanity
And goodbye to happiness
My heart is yet again torn apart
And it bleeds as you laugh at your part
The part that you took in this hurt more than ever
My mind ain’t shit anymore to endeavor

About this poem
It’s about my past and trauma. It’s how I felt them and how I had to hold on and cope
