Analysis of Guilt
Guilt comes creeping on quiet feet, its silhouette always looming,
Slithering into mind's crevices, eroding self-worth entombing.
Whispering you are not good enough, failures keep repeating,
Each mistake magnified under guilt's glare unfettered and unblinking.
In relationships, its claws dig deeper, sowing shameful seeds,
“Your flawed soul will only poison”, despite what it truly needs.
So you learn to hide the dark parts that guilt feeds at your core,
While silently its tapestry of lies winds tighter than before.
Until every word and gesture strains beneath guilt's massive weight,
Eroding trusts built, out of fear they won't withstand this freight.
Walls thickened by guilty nails make connection a distant shore,
While guilt sings softly, sweetly: they could never love you anymore.
But take a breath - for guilt may dwarf, yet holds no truer power.
Your light still glows behind its veil, brighter by the hour.
With time and care, its grip recedes, its shadow-songs lose sway,
Its phantom claws left empty, finding newer souls to slay.
