Analysis of Do not fear

The skies darken like nightfall.
It’s daytime but no one can see.
Smoke fills the air, like a skyscraper, so tall.
The smoke surrounds all of me.
Wildfires burning in Canada,
shining bright like a shining star.
Fires blazing like a raging inferno
this is all bizarre.
Her eyes were like diamonds
as she stared at the raging fire.
Skies are a brilliant Orange
as the smoke clouds rise higher.
They say the end of times is near
but we must not be scared
we must not live in fear.
God will pave the way
just listen, do you hear?
He calls to us like the rain falling on a cloudy day
hypnotizing our visions
as he paves the way.

About this poem

Today I woke up and our skies darkened. It’s supposed to be a beautiful sunny day with no clouds in sight but we noticed the entire sky was orange and all around us was a glowing haze. I have never seen anything like this before. It feels like this is what it would look like if I was on Mars. It's like a scene out of the “Blade Runner” when it showed the New York Skyline. We were not sure what was going on so we turned on the news and found out that there were fires all around us. Some towns right down the street are on fire and Canada has it the worst. The smoke from these fires have darkened our skies and made our air quality very bad. I remember sitting in the living room watching how scary all of this was but I heard myself come out and say we will be okay because God will protect us. I decided to sit down and write a poem. I wanted to reflect on the fears we fear everyday. I wanted to give a vivid picture of the things I was seeing, feeling, and what I believe in. Scary thing
