Analysis of Unspoken Invitation

There's a young beauty right in front of you,
Her aura bright and her smile is sincere.
Her eyes flicker with a gleam of interest,
And you're caught up in her charm, impressed.

There's a spark of attraction that ignites,
Drawing you together like two stars.
You talk and share your deepest thoughts,
As the distance between you becomes short.

Her hands brush against yours and you feel alive,
Electricity surging through you deep inside.
The spark ignites a flame of passion,
And you give in to the unspoken invitation.

Your bodies entwine and your souls unite,
As your desires meld into the darkness.
The mystery that once engulfed you both,
Disappears into the passion that's now heightening.

The love that was once a mystery,
Is now an open book with you both together,
And the beauty you once beheld is now your reality,
Enwrapped in each other, entwined forever.

Words become caress,
Stirring passion like a flame,
Touching follows close,
Intimacy builds and grows,
Until desire takes control.

Joe Strickland

I'm just a regular, blue collar, working stiff who took an interest in writing poetry many years ago but until recently I haven't had a desire to share any with anyone or pursue publication. I'm an unpublished fork lift operator by night, and a day drinker by choice. I can be followed on Twitter @JoeStricklandSC more…
