Analysis of Pride

Two adults sat back-to-back after a row,
The tension was thick, their emotions aglow,
Their pride and resentment, a formidable foe,
Yet, deep down inside, an inner child craved a hello.

With age come the gifts of wisdom and grace,
But it also brings stubbornness and a stern, set face,
To connect, we must quiet that prideful race,
And let the childlike spirit take its rightful place.

In a world full of big words, anger, and blame,
We often forget that love is not a game,
The inner child knows how to love all the same,
And yearns for a connection, free of shame.

It's hard to let go of the things we treasure,
Pride and anger, they bring such pleasure,
But the inner child knows only of leisure,
Forgiving and loving, without measure.

The past is gone, and the future is yet to come,
But the here and now, we can't ignore nor shun,
The inner child beckons us to have some fun,
To connect and love, never to outrun.

So, let go of the grudges and resentment within,
And let the childlike spirit take the win,
For love and connection are what we seek to begin,
And through forgiveness, it always wins.

In the end, the two adults turned and faced each other,
Their inner child took over, and they connected like no other,
Pride and anger, they buried deep undercover,
Leaving only love and forgiveness, to now discover.

Age may have many gifts, but none compare,
To the inner child's ability to connect and care,
So let go of pride, anger, and despair,
And let the inner child's spirit lead the way, like a prayer.

Remember this when you feel stubborn and full of pride,
For it's the inner child that will guide,
To love, connection, and peace, free from the divide,
Let the childlike spirit take the lead, and thrive.
