Analysis of My Help Comes From The Lord

Vanity
 is vanity,
says the Holy Book--
Ecclesiastes.

You struggle
 every day
to acquire
wealth,
yet
you
are
not
satisfied.

You build
 houses
upon
houses
yet,
you are
not satisfied.

You buy cars
 upon cars,
yet
you
are not satisfied,
not satisfied.
You have
 a thousand
wivies
like
King Solomon,
yet
you are
 not satisfied.

With the billions
of
 your
stolen money,
you still lack
peace of mind.

You are still greedy;
you want to steal more;
you need help;
money is not a source
of happiness;
Stolen wealth
is not a source
of happiness.

Think twice:
remember
 your
creator
 before
the roll is called
yonder;
you must stand
 before
your creator
to give account of
your stewardship;
all that glitters
is not gold.

David had many wivies,
 yet
he
committed adultery;
he had no peace of mind;
he murdered;
he had no peace of mind.
His troubles continued
when his son(Absalom) revolted
against him.

"I lift up my eyes
to the hills,
where does
my help
come from?
My help comes
from the Lord
the maker
of heaven and earth."(Psalm: 121:1 ).

About this poem

No matter how successful we are, without peace of mind, vanity is the answer. Wealth does not guarantee peace of mind, neither does our status, or position in life. Peace of mind comes from your closeness to your creator, God (Chukwu).
