Analysis of If only you knew
If only you knew my heart content
The depths of how I feel,
How lost…a wonderer I have become.
If only you knew the sadness and despair,
How far outstretched my heart,
Beckoning…hopes of reaching you.
If only you knew of the day we part,
And the changes without you,
Time now standing still.
If only you knew of the silent love,
Of the dawn of a new day,
Of the patience of time where we can be again
If only you knew of the day lost,
Of the love missed, of missing you,
If only you knew..

About this poem
My great grandmother passed. I never told her I loved her. Then she passed having dementia never remembered who I was. I dedicate this to her and to all who are silent in love.
