Analysis of My Heart was an Empty Stage
Kyle Hauck 1985
After so many dark days
The stage was again filled with light
Against all odds ready for opening night.
An audience of emotions
Sits patiently waiting
To get their first look
At the new leading lady
She enters the spotlight
And her lines are spoken
The audience was star eyed
As the fourth wall was broken
A stage once empty
Now vibrant and alive
With each performance given
My love for you does thrive
You captivate the audience
With every role you play
And I am a mere spectator
Begging for one more day
So here I stand in awe of you
Awestruck by your grace
With every performance given
My heart finds a new place

About this poem
This poem was written for a woman who fills the empty stage that was my heart. She leaves me in awe of everything she does.
