Analysis of I wish my dad was alive

Hasan Johnson 1980 (Peoria Illinois)

I wish my dad was alive
To curse me out again
My only friend
Through thick and thin
Until the End
I wish my dad was alive
To disrespect me and laugh about it
That gave him so much joy
To treat as if I was challenged mentally
Although I was just a boy
I wish my dad was alive so my miserable mom could smile again
Mistreating me was their bond it stopped them from arguing
I wonder if heaven could accept a piece of trash like me
Unloved and unwanted
Through eternity
I’d trade in my life to give my dad a second chance
Then my dementia stricken mom could snap out of her trance
