Analysis of Little Girl With a Crayon

Lifting out and down.
Lifting up above my crown,
Now over and down.
I reach above the ground,
The space between my ears and eyes.
I say, “glory to God.”
Tears fly.
Reaching despair does die.
Reaching now,
Reaching forever
Is love’s sparks,
Love marks
Like a little girl
With a crayon.
Innocent and pure,
She was sure.
As she strokes my heart
With colors,
It reaches my lips
Like flowers.
I say, “I love you.”
She says, “I do too.”
“Happy days are ahead,”
She reaches her fingers
As they spread.
She reaches for a color
To color my head
Until my eyes are fed.
She leads me to a springing
Fountain,
To a colored mountain.
“We are drawn,” she says
With a yawn and a dawn.
Ecstasy fills the rim
Of the world.
I reach for untold love.
A story to unfold, a dove.
On mercy’s wings she sings
And a world of hope and love
To God she brings.
