Analysis of Hawaii, music playing, flowers everywhere.
Start the experience
With Pearl Harbour.
Monstrous overturned ships
Can still be seen.
Coffins of an upsetting sort.
Panic and screams.
December was supposed to be
Ribbons, festive song and that
Matchless Baby.
But not that “day of infamy.”
(F D R’s words on the radio.)
Switch scenes, willya Poet.
A huge happy man
Playing ukelele.
Over the Rainbow.
War canoes that can
Master incoming surf.
Hardy men grunting
Out their verve with paddles.
Don Ho and the tiny bubbles.
Mormon this, and Mormon that.
A steamy hike around
Volcano crest.
Son Jordan did this
On Air Cadet program.
Snorkling, at one point
Too close to a
Hammerhead shark.
Bubbles streaming.
Son made it back to
The catamaran.
Unforgettable. Smiling now.
Fruit other wordly
And in exquisite colour
And flavour.
Seafoods with names
Unfamiliar.
Cooking techniques amazing.
Tales of noble Monarchies
Missionaries
Moments of unique Nature.
Palms dancing, whispering
To the gentle, kindly
Pacific Breeze.
Gets me thinking of a
Robinson Crusoe.
Or an Enoch Arden.
Or an Alexander Selkirk.
Or a Tom Hanks.
The bunch, Island Castaways…
