Analysis of NATURE STRIKES, TURKEY BLEEDS,THE WORLD WEEP

Francis Boakye 1988 (Bodwesango in Ashanti Region)

Doomsday, the wailers bow in tears
Fear grips the soul and strips it naked
Hearts bleed, the world watch in panic
Tears flowing freely from feeble eyes
Help! Help! Help!
Soon the shouts die down

The tumbling earth announces its presence
Aiming at souls to swallow
Great and small
Rich and poor
Hades opens the register
And counts the death toll

Buried alive under rubbles
Are souls that dream, souls with vision
Souls with plans for tomorrow
Sadly, tomorrow never comes

A stream of blood runs through the streets
Meandering its ways through the ailing roads
Gushing down deeply into gutters
Precious blood turns waste

Lifeless bodies paraded like soldiers
Lined up like a team of players
Ready to go down the drain
Back to the very soil of their abode
Dust to dust, ashes to ashes
 In sure and certain hope
Of the resurrection to eternal life.
