Analysis of That Burn
Prajwal V Dev 2003 (Bengaluru)
I remember it to be my last pleasant evening,
The beautiful sunset and the breeze so pleasing.
My skin looked so magnificent under those rays,
Perhaps, those were the few last cheerful days..!
I had never believed in fate before,
But had to battle with the tears that were now hard to store.
I had never expected life to make me play on its cruel side,
My body was somehow alive, but its cover had died..!
He had not just ruined my graceful physique,
But also renamed me as ugly unique.
I was scared to see my own self in the mirror,
My own shouts had become my nightmares of horror..!
Now, no evening rays could give my skin that beauty,
This was probably the time to handle my courage or may be that was my duty.
There were many who showered all the synonyms of sympathy,
But only few held my hands through my apathy..!
At this point,
I have learnt so much and fought for all the burns I’ve worn.
Nothing could make me stronger, but “THAT BURN”,
The acid on my face burnt like the sun…!
