Analysis of Lingual Legacy: The Power of Words
Alas, how oft doth speech, a simple tongue,
Bring forth such weighty consequences, more
Than sword or scepter e'er could ere have done!
The power of words, a wondrous gift to man,
Can heal or harm, bring joy or cause such strife,
A gentle breeze or tempest fierce and wan.
In every utterance, a choice we make,
To bless or curse, to lift or bring low down,
The impact of our words, a pathway stake,
For others' lives, with rippling waves do crown,
And oft doth shape the course of fate so true,
As potent as the strength of strongest sound.
Oft times, a hasty word doth cause such harm,
A fire kindled, spreading fast and wide,
A spark that grows, a conflagration warm,
And then the tongue, the fatal cause espied,
A weapon deadly, in its use untrue,
A wound that bleeds, beyond all time to hide.
But on the other hand, our words can bless,
A soothing balm, to comfort and to heal,
A gentle stream, a source of happiness,
A well-spoke word, a power so surreal,
That lifts the soul, and makes the spirit soar,
A gift most precious, forever to reveal.
Therefore, let us ponder, ere we speak,
The impact of our words, so swift and fleet,
And with discretion, let our tongues be meek,
For in the power of words, we must compete,
To use them wisely, lest we cause harm,
And lead ourselves and others to defeat.
So let us choose, with care and thought, our words,
And weigh the worth of each before we say,
For words have power, as our life record,
A testament to all that we convey,
A tale of life and death, of joy and pain,
Of all that we do, and all that we say.
