Analysis of Taken for Granted

The worst thing about being alone is believing no one ever cared. When at the end of the day, when all they had to say was you this and that, not knowing where you came from.

I may have lived in high places, with cold faces, but I always loved my hood. I always went back to where I knew good. Some never understood, why I kept going back, I was trying to just be friends even though I was wack.

I might have been slow, but I always kept my glow. I know I could flow and... forget it man.
It was all about acceptance, but I was taken for granted.

The fact is, it was the resistance, my stubbornness that kept me sitting here still.
With all the new tracks, I can't keep up with that, but then the SWITCH came, and I knew it was game.

Love was lost, and it was found, then lost again to a second round.

The ground is cold, and full of mould, stale smells stinks up our nose. So lets pose on a high pedal stool, lets not go back to the  evilness of high school.

From the running to chasing to going to other places. Lets face it, its not the second time. All you had to do is come and say Hi, but that's not the same now is it?

So lets face It, we did make it.
But... lets look on the menu, 'cus shits on; to be continued...

Shanique L Marshall

I have been writing poems, music, and in the process of writing a book for many years. I learned to incorporate different styles of writing, and combined them into one. Some of my writings will either be about my passion, my everyday festivities, food, to even devices. I find that writing has given me a sense of release with my emotions, or the experiences I have encountered over the years of my life. I hope you can enjoy my work, and maybe find some kind of relation to it, so you can feel what I felt. more…
