Analysis of He is Sleeping

Heather Lydia Thornhill 1981 (Manchester)

He who is my friend
Who I have known till the end
Seen eternity with and back again
Spoke words fretful and weary to and then
Loved many times before our end
Delighted lives with our jewel remnant
Seen the fool and wise as the moon
Looked upon softly and so strong
Who I shared thoughts with for so long
He who laughs so rarely now
Yet glows up with each weary bow
He is sleeping.
He is sleeping now
