Analysis of Green Belt
Martin Kinyua 1999 (Nyeri)
How comes she is more celebrated outside her country.
She taught us the environment.
She taught us to take care of the environment.
She taught us how to plant a tree .
She taught us how to take care of the tree .
She taught us how to fight for our rights
How to fight public land-grabbers.
The blood on her locks .
She suffered for our sons to be released
Oh! The beatings. Police brutality at its peak .
She stood for our mothers rights .
The hunger strikes. Just imagine the agony.
The forest, the green spaces in the city.
They fought for that.
At Karura, the hummingbird sings .
