Analysis of DINING TEACHERS

Teachers at dinners are a waiter's nightmare
With their rhetoric
Raised to the heavens
Extolling the fine wine
The calamari, the octopus in sauce smothered
We all heaved a collectve sigh
As dinner began
Much to the waiter's chagrin
They didnt realise
That we are those
entrusted to educate
are just like fellow diners out there
who peruse the menus with prejudice
As the clamour inundates
The cozy confines of the restaurant
The waiter rings a bell
That is met with a pregnant pause
Maybe he didnt realise that
Teachers all together as a restaurant
on the last day of term don't
really care for ettiquette
for finess
or quiet solitude
Who cares?
When in fine company
Nothing educationally sound
comes to mind
But the mindless rhetoric and drunkeness
to accompany the celebration
of a school year at end.
