Analysis of Longing for His House
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
O Lord God of Hosts, hear my prayer,
O God of Jacob, please give an ear;
Your anointed face that You share,
Of Your shield I want to revere.
Because of a day in Your court,
Better than a thousand elsewhere;
Be the doorkeeper of Your fort,
And not in a wicked affair.
For the Lord is a sun and shield,
He bestows favor and honor;
Blessings will abundantly yield,
To whom is a humbled fawner.
No good things does the Lord withhold,
From those who are walking upright;
Righteously doing as been told,
Will find pleasure within His sight.
O Lord of Hosts bless be the one,
That is putting their trust in You;
Praising all that the Lord has done,
And remaining faithful and true.
