Analysis of One of those Days
Abby Kesington 1979 (Lagos)
Today is one of those days
Everything spirals south
From waking to zero balance account
To dodging rush hour traffic
And the barrage of life many troubles.
Today is one of those days
When relying on wits fail
When life outsmart the smartest
Who try to take a detour
By dodging life’s curve ball
Only to be left outwitted.
Today is one of those days
When there’s no where to look but up
To seek help beyond your means
By ending the pity party
And swim out the mucky water of hopelessness.
Today is one of those days you keep still
And let life be life.
When you stop struggling with the tide
And let the wave of peace carry your mind to shore.

About this poem
It was inspired by my morning traffic experience. Tried taking a detour only to find myself where I started.
