Analysis of MUST

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

I must allow myself to like mission impossible message destruct to feel these feelings of melancholy that I feel for you deep inside of my withering heart

I must be knocked down and torn apart
I allowed you like a raccoon in the middle of the night roaming for food to take up space inside of my head but like a fat belly landlord I am here to collect the rent
You are not getting your security back for the marks that you left etched inside of my soul.

I no longer know how I should feel give me some reason to believe and it must not be some bullshit story of a fairy tale

This was a rose garden
Now all that is left are the thorns
I lost myself in the sun while you were getting lost inside of the marshmallow clouds because you were always hungry like the rain

The taste on your tongue went bad you should have stayed with what you had and not gotten mad when I handed you a breath mint I am starting to think that I am off with nothing then this is something that will never be named

When I fall upon scraped knees you doubt me and keep kicking until I am unable to get off the grass that is left with the remains of me
I spilled out my world for you  no I am not some kind of God who makes his home inside of  some unreachable place because I have a name I have a face

I am your fool but yet my poetry made you wet in more ways than one you must not leave marks on one's heart because they will soon disappear but a man with a pen and words you will always hear oh you had a seductive way of touching my body yet  I had the charm of a southern gentleman to touch your mind and soul our story by friends and lovers will all be told
