Analysis of Happily ever after ?

HAPPILY EVER AFTER?

Who shall I wake up to when the bird sings at dawn?
Who shall I kiss goodnight to at the fall of the sun?

Through your mouth, a promise was made
"Happily ever after, our forever is here to stay"

Promises were made, promises were sealed
Forever was starting, forever was killed

My heart was taken
Thereafter forsaken

Happily ever after to you
For my heart doesn't rest in you
