Analysis of Happenstance
In this moment my heart is beating,
In a foreign rhythm.
I am rooted to this pavement.
Such a nervous wreck; a stuttering mess.
I fell too fast; crash-landing into you.
Just one step and I will fall right back out.
In this moment my eyes are quite blinded,
In a constant state of lucid dreaming.
I am dreaming within a dream.
A fantasy of you; a nightmare of reality.
I hit a wall and there's no exit.
Forever torn asunder by happenstance.
Every little thing reminds me of you.
A slight breeze within the wind.
A split second of warmth within these blankets wrapped around me.
The same words you spoke,
Now spoken from someone else.
Making every little thing seem so meaningless.
In this moment my feet seem fit to wander,
In a scene so breathtaking; so mesmerizing.
I am still rooted to this pavement.
Take this handle on my heart and pull it towards you.
Hypnotize it and let me crash again.
In this moment I am no longer dreaming, dreaming of could've been....
