Analysis of Our Asylum
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble;
To persevere at any length,
He will pull me from the rubble.
I fear not though the earth gives way,
Though mountains moved into the sea;
He guides me as to not to stray,
From the commands of His decree.
Though the waters roar and waves foam,
And the mountains move to a quake;
The swelling will not make me roam,
No matter how the ground will shake.
There is a river that is glad,
Streams make glad the city of God;
Holy habitation that had,
Cleansing you where you had been flawed.
The Lord is in the midst of her,
And she will never be removed;
When the morning dawns God will stir,
Up the waves to the sounds that grooved.
The heathen rage and kings mutter,
They grumble while the earth melts;
The voice of God commands to utter,
As He speaks their skin to cause welts.
The Lord of Hosts remains with us,
The God of Jacob a fortress;
He is our refuge as thus,
At all times which cope with the stress.
Come behold the works of the Lord,
How He has brought desolations;
He cannot ever be ignored,
Refusing His regulations.
He will be making wars to cease,
By breaking the bow and the spear;
Burning chariots will bring peace,
When the Son of God will appear.
Be still and know that He is God,
Exalted amongst the nations;
Let the earth give honor and laud,
To establish new relations.
