Analysis of An Ode to Wine Country
Fredericksburg, town on the hill
that cannot be hidden.
Its vineyards and wineries boast a thrill
Awakening the palate with flavors unbidden
Crisp-whites, full bodied reds, or sparkling wine
A variety of choices at tasting
Inducts virgin tongues to the vine
While sizzling experts into full mating.
Sleek, dry like Chardonnay
Or the elegant and Fruity
Sparkling wine
Blends with cheese on a good day
With cured meat, tastes divine
Fredericksburg, light of the hill country
Its Narrow path leads to heaven’s bar
Beckoning all and sundry
To savor from its jar.
