Analysis of Zzzzz...

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

These days...
Does a listening to one thing,
Repeated over and over again.
Make the truth of it,
More interesting to validate.
Convincingly?

When does a truth told become pointless.
To anyone left to be concerned?
About what truth is to care less.
Or what it means to keep believed?
Heard to hear addressed.
Afterall...
Aren't lies to tell them these days,
More creative?
More imaginative and innovative?
With an attention given quick.
Like a dog who is trained,
To fetch a thrown stick.

These days to hear,
Whatever it is important told?
Goes in one ear and out the other.
As if both ears have been glued closed.
Truth?
Seldom has the power,
For anyone to prioritize it tried...
To keep both ears and eyes opened.
At least to keep anyone awake!
Doesn't it seem that way?

I said...
Doesn't it seem today,
That truth heard to hear it told...
Seldom has the power,
To keep anyone AWAKE!

Uh...hello!
EXCUSE ME!'

'OH...
I apologize.
Were you speaking to me?
I was meditating.'

Snoring?
With your eyes closed drooling?
And your head nodding back and forth.
As if your neck is about to break off?
Come on.
A child can make a better excuse than that.

'That's how deep my meditations take me.
Seriously.
And that's the truth!.
What was it that I missed?
Or you assume I did.
I could have been praying.'

Praying?
For what?

'Have you ever sat,
Listening to a college professor?
Or a sermon preached.
With a beginning to write notes.
Then fall to sleep?'

So...
You do admit it.
You were sleeping?

'No.
Meditating.
There is a difference.
Meditating helps loosen tightened muscles!
With a power to make anyone forget,
Being stressed out unnecessarily.'
