Analysis of The Subtle Way
And just as a Mother weeps
for her children,unloved
My heart,my eyes and I too weep
fir my children,unread
But,just as a Mothers child
forgets not to live
so do all my children to
cease not to be.
I may not live enough to say
Look,I made a mark
But,when my head shall turn to grey
and spine shall to arc
then all my children tenderly
shall one day say to me
'This we un-nailed in the dungeon
that was on the rock
This we un-wrote in the valleys
that was on the wall'
So,my sweetest countrymen
Have you ever heard,
the poignant wails
of a Mother's cry
The Subtle Way,she does?
If nay be your answer then
Tell me should my wails,
Parch just the seven skies
or go far beyond?

About this poem
This poem is about the journey of a poet to recognition;more about the former than about the latter.A poet and a mother are juxtaposed and the symbolism betokens much.
