Analysis of Soul Maker
Yangega Kwar Luther 1991 (Benue)
Mother.
Maker of our souls
Twigs are being twirled around daggers
Loneliness, our goofy frequenter
I call you mother
Destitution, our daily bread
The unaccustomed hovering of vultures
A misfortune
Body and spirit in discord
I call you mother
Our portion of lands like grave yards
The white smudged with blood
Blood stinks, fear looms
The dignity of the horses lost
Wings of the eagle broken
I call you mother
Faithful prayers and pledges utterly blink
Strength to defend and uphold eluded
Voices fainted in ululation
Hopes dead and buried
I call you mother
Come, maker of our souls
Lover of all souls
Endless mercy
To quench agonies
I call you mother
