Analysis of Sunset

Fast or slow
The speed doesn't matter
Light or dark
Its sunset I'm after
Peace and tranquility
Love after hours
Cold showers
Superhuman with no powers
Too much kryptonite in sight
I'm blind
Can't see
I look to you
But you don't see me
You never seen me
Did you even try
I wonder why
Every time I cry, it reveals a piece of me
Pieces I don't want you to see
The sunset is my peace
It's calm
Its free
Its open like the serenity of the Sea
I wanted you to experience it with me
To love
To share
To honor
And to care
Too bad you won't be there
Neverending
Every time I get closer to the other side
I get caught up in the beginning
What was I thinking
Why I did think it would be different
Thought we'd learned our lesson
I was wrong, I wasn't thinking
I was guessing
Love is supposed to be free
If that's true then why did I have to pay a fee?
Assuming you'd be there for me and you left me where you met me
I'm infinite
There's too much to tell that I won't
They say trust, but I don't
I can't, I tried
I told the truth and they lied
Honestly I'm fried
My heart has really died
Endless times
It's immortal
People are immoral
I've created a portal
It keeps me safe
I call it my sacred place
When there I feel grace
Closer to the other side
The other side I was after
Found in my next chapter
No regrets, I don't believe we've met
Hello, I'm The Sunset

About this poem

This poem came to me one morning I had came home from work. It was around 5 in the morning and its like the words just popped up in my mind. Creativity strikes for me at the strangest hours. I'm a night person so most of my best work is discovered when the sun is down.
