If I knew this was my last day on Earth
Would I dare to ignore
A cloud giving birth
To a raindrop child
Feeding flora below
Feeding mother earth’s seed
A flower soon to grow
Could I walk callously by
A homeless vintage soul
Or embrace that life
And love extol
Should I dwell on foibles
Imperfections and pain
Or celebrate small joys
The sweet smelling rain
A simple message my pen
Here yearns to share
Live life for each minute
We’re never promised a year
