Analysis of Blessings
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Bless who walks not in the guidance,
Nor stands in the way of sinners;
Rather with God in compliance,
Within His Law to be winners.
Delight in the Law of the Lord,
And meditate both day and night;
As to remain in one accord,
As you remain within His light.
Be a tree planted by a stream,
In yielding fruit in the season;
Leaves not withered but gains esteem,
Prospering faith is the reason.
For the ungodly are not so,
But like chaff the wind drives away;
Drifts aimlessly never to know,
Because they keep going astray.
In judgment, they will not stand,
Nor the sinners with the righteous;
Fire and brimstone to demand,
As a verdict for their justice.
For the Lord always knows the way,
The way the wicked will perish;
Because the righteous will obey,
And the Lord will always cherish.
