Analysis of Day 5

Well today I haven't slept a wink

These days, it's either I sleep too much or I don't

On the days when I sleep too much, it helps you know getting an escape from reality even though the reality sometimes haunts my sweet dreams.

I wake up tired, defeated and burned out

Today I got up super early, not really I just couldn't sleep

Drank a cup of black coffee trying to regain my strength

I stood by the door watching the sun rise

It was so beautiful I forgot I was falling apart for a minute.

I tried praying, but I ended weeping so much I had hiccups, my heart clenching like someone held it in a vice grip.

I couldn't find the words to explain the excruciating pain I felt, it was as if there is a monster gnawing at my bones.

One thing I hate about this thing we call healing, that one moment when you are happy and everything is going well

Everything comes crashing down, and it weighs ten times worse than it first was.

About this poem

It's a poem about how healing takes a toll on one's mental health. The dark side that people don't talk about when it comes to healing.
