Analysis of Villanelle for the Heroin

The next time that you take a hit
Remind yourself when you get there
Don't make yourself a hypocrite

So when you think that life is shit
And all of life is just unfair
"I can always take another hit."

Tell all your friends you're sick of it
Don't tell them your daily nightmare
Now thinking like a hypocrite

For years and years you'll never quit
Give everyone a lonely stare
Just waiting for another hit

Alone and sad you'll always sit
The drugs have you in their sick snare
Alone and sad a hypocrite

You're ready now and this is it
You'll do it now and this you swear
Just one more, it's your final hit
Now die alone you hypocrite

About this poem

This is not just a story but a warning, based on tragic things that have happened to people that I loved.
