Analysis of No Strings Attached

Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)

Everyone wants to know God;
           they all want to see the truth,
       Even if they now feel older than dirt,
                   they’ve wanted it from their youth.

Some of them don’t even know it;
        Most think they want something else.
    But when they come to the end of themselves,
        Many will then ask for help.

My Jesus will be there to save them;
   If they will just call on his name.
      He won’t charge a fee for his service,
He won’t offer fortune or fame.
