Analysis of Let her go

Hasan Johnson 1980 (Peoria Illinois)

Let her go

Hey man don’t be a fool
Let her go if she says she’s through
Don’t scream don’t yell don’t cause a scene
Police come quick when you black like me
Let her go!
If she wants to move on it’s cool
She’s already made a fool out of you
Your momma don’t like her and your friends already had her
The more you think about it, just gone make you madder
Let her go!
It’s more fish in the sea
Better fish and better opportunities
I know It hurts
I get it
I understand
You want to prove to her that you the man…
Let her go!
Oh the folly that awaits the fool
Ignorance is the vice that’s used as a tool
Death and destruction are waiting on you
Watching to see what you gone do
She plays the harlot
She is in sin
You have to be strong no matter how tempting
Your flesh is weak but your spirit is strong
Call on God to help you move on
The enemy is seeking whom he may devour
What started as love, lust has turned sour
The expiration date has long passed
Now you know that forever nothing worldly can last
Learn from your mistakes
Heal and love yourself
Become a better story than the books on the shelf
Her mistake her fault her bad
Be slow to anger
Don’t curse or be mad
Just let her go
Move on and be blessed
Joy comes from the Lord
P.S.
so does happiness!
Let her go.
