Analysis of A Leo and a Lion
You had me hooked just by your care
Always with braids, you wore your hair.
When I first said I liked your mane,
a Leo king I soon would tame.
Your afro made my soul gleeful.
You were easy and so peaceful.
Don’t think I won’t remember us,
Before I put up such a fuss
And yes, I’m taking all the fault
for all those lines I always crossed.
Can’t hold onto our once before,
It’s always you that I’ll adore.
But I can say that for a fact,
I know lions don’t always attack.

About this poem
I wrote this poem after a breakup with my boyfriend at the time. I never told him I loved him and it breaks my heart to this day.
