Analysis of DESPERATION!
Do you know what desperation is,
Do you know how it looks like,
Let me tell you what it is and how it looks like,
It looks like the face of a carpenter who hasn't sold a piece in days,
It looks like a broke intern with loads of work but not a single pay,
It looks like an open-air market vendor going to work on a rainy day,
It looks like an immigrant in a foreign state with no place to stay,
It looks like a quarry worker who wonders if he'll get through the day safe,
It looks like a kid in the qualifier trials but his knee is too busted to play,
It looks like a farmer who has tilled the land but hasn't seen rain in days,
It looks like a graduate looking for a job but has no one to show him the way,
It looks like refugees in a crammed up camp hoping to receive some grain,
It looks like a mother who is married to a drunkard and her kids ran away,
It looks like a father who sacrificed everything but at the end it was all in vain,
It looks like that neighbor next door who you don't know hasn’t eaten in days,
Desperation is the faces of the people I see in my poor country every single day.
