Analysis of The Complexity of Roses

They told us roses were the embodiment love
And I thought them bold to presume as such
Thinking it impossible that a little red plant
Could represent endless yearning chants

Yet as my skin aged, and my beauty grew extinct
I realised how love and roses interlinked
As for a while the flower is perfection
Until time causes it's disgusting defection

So the passing of seconds is why they decline
As how can you tolerate anything not in its prime?
Meaning your love which will "last a lifetime"
Will be crushed by the repeated clock chime
