Analysis of There's Nothing New Under the Sun

Earth has survived thousands years
And so has deception, greed, and lust
Human beings have many forms
Anger, Arrogance, and Distrust

From huts in forests to skyscrapers
Nothing new has changed
The barbaric beasts still exist
So it's a history rearranged

Hopes are killed, dreams are shattered
Sorrows are multiplied, and happiness divided
Lies are spread, truth is supressed
Evil is highlighted, and virtue is hided

There's Nothing New Under the Sun

About this poem

The poem is about how things are still the same even after several years. Our morals are still not high. Despite much progress, our society can't be truly called a civilized society.
