Analysis of Hey Sadist

Hey Sadist,
How are you today?
I hope you slept well?
I hope your children are well-tucked in bed?
I hope you feel better about yesterday?
The pain you caused and the agony unleashed,
The emotional blackmail and shed tears,
All my sacrifices, gone down the drain.

Hey Sadist,
Lovely name, isn't it?
Do you even know how your title came to be?
You got it the day you gave me the terrible news with joy,
You were happy I failed,
My career was a toy to you,
My life was a joke to you,
Your message was full of hope and optimism, but I never realized you were only acting,
I asked you why but you were beaming with smiles,
Your false hope was intentional, you said,
Missing the deadline was a lesson, you said,
I needed to feel the pain to remember, you said,
I needed to feel agony to understand your point, you said,
It was not my turn to smile you said,
It was not my turn to celebrate, you said,
I was too young to be happy, you said,
And in your words, every process had to hurt.

Hey Sadist,
You told me your words will come to pass and it did painfully,
My cries were music to your ears,
I did my part and all you had to do was yours,
I was heartbroken,
I was in pain,
I was shattered,
My effort is wasted,
I pleaded but you said pain was your mercy,
I wonder how far you would go.

Hey Sadist,
Listen carefully,
I would cry out the pain,
I would beat out the anger and bitterness,
I would hold no grudge against you,
I would not be your victim,
I would be strong,
I would be courageous,
I would smile again,
I would heal,
I would always try again but not with you,
You are an obstacle I will surely overcome.
