Analysis of Chuck Feeney, Noblesse Oblige
gregg connolly 1956 (pennsylvania)
The accolades come from home and abroad
Billionaires call him “A Hero”, he ain’t no fraud
He may have been the first billionaire
Truth is he did not keep count nor care
His parochial youth enriched his spirit and soul
Commited to culture, family, community as a whole
His life immersed in genuine fealty, a taste of the old sod
In sight of the statue of liberty, he grew up and trod
He went to war and learned about the world as a whole
Learned a few tricks to generate cash for his coming role
He saw a business opportunity that made cash nonstop
With a fellow Cornellian he created the worldwide duty free shoppe
The money rolled, in copious amounts, evermore, evermore
The business seemed to run itself, it just became a big bore
Chuck, a principled man, knew his fortune had got out of hand
Engaging in self grandizement, promoting his brand
Would have harassed his spirit, darkened his very soul
He would have found himself digging his own spiritual hole
Chuck always remembered his place, a fortunate man among the human race
His mission in life had always been clear, be a virtuous man, hold everyone dear
Chuck invested his fortune in human beings, their life, their education, their very needs
He did this all quietly with little fanfare, An eight billion dollar repayment to humans for care
Can you name a greater man on this Earth, who has given everything he had in his purse
The likes of Buffett and Gates behold Chuck in awe, to emulate Chuck is now the call
Will modern day Nobles follow Chuck’s lead, feel obliged to their virtue to denounce their greed
The Finest Fenian and a hero to me, surely our lord will personally welcome thee
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THANK YOU CHUCK FEENEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
