Analysis of Chasing Spirits
Echoes from my days of glory bounces off the wall
Memories of what was, taint my thoughts
Stares in the mirrors seem distant
Salt and pepper stains my facial follicles
Aches and pains is a daily alarm clock
Slim and structured frame, disappeared years ago
Craving the taste of brew, over Fogers in the am
Sadness smells the air
Pity of self-worth enters the room
As echos from my days of glory strengthens
Sitting down to raise my pants
Deep breaths upon completion
Memories of what was, taint my thoughts
Loneliness become my first meal of the day
Disappointed for lunch
Tiredness for dinner
Sin will satisfy my mind BUT,
The Bible restrengthens my soul
God shall make me whole again
A prayer of salvation awakens my youth
As I dance and parade in HIS Grace
My heart is as a babe, as I mount up with wings
I look towards the hills
And close my eyes know the God will never leave me at my lowest.

About this poem
Living in the past is not good. Keep your eyes focused on the future. Remember Lot’s wife turned back and turned into a pillar of salt. Stay focused and on the path ahead Sin only satisfy the moment
