Analysis of Shallow Love

Tip-toed talking
On tangled tightropes
Of half truths and
Broken smiles.
Restless pacing,
Keeping rhythm with the
Thoughts that are
Racing
With how fast my body
Is shaking in tempo.
Catastrophic epiphanies,
Catatonic memories,
Blank spaces lost to time
And I am apathetic
At best.
Reckless behavior
Becomes survivalism
In a world where
Numbness
Is the only escapism
That satisfies the
Broken Heart
And eases the
Fractured Mind.
Let your judgements
Fall around me,
I am no stranger
To loneliness.
I have heard the
Call of the Void
And followed his despair
Into the blackened abyss,
Just to smile in his face
And remind him that
I know how to climb.
Lend me your tongue
So that I might
Speak
With a language
You can understand:
Hyperbolic apologies
Are not redemptive,
Complacency
Is not action,
And shallow love
Is no love
At all.
