Analysis of Zesty Italian/ My Brown Eyed Girl - 5

She entered
Back into the dish station
And asked me,
Can you handle all of this?
Back here by yourself.
I could only reply
With he’ll yeah.
So I asked her
Do you even like the color Blue?
Boy did she look pissed off,
And said no.
So I asked
What your favorite color
And she said to pink,
I like pink
As she walked over
To her at the locker,
She pulled a coffee mug
Out of her locker;
It was the color pink.
The woman really
Made me think about
What has really happened?
Over the past few years
That I wasn’t a part of.
But
It was break through;
I found out what she liked.

About this poem

Inspired by my encounter with a young woman I would work with at The British Open Pub in Venice Florida in 2019. It was all about chance encounters, and it helped lift my spirits during my journey, and to always be remembered…
