Analysis of Like a Brother

I know you used to love me
I used to love you too
It wasn't you or me but we
I wanted no one but you

I realize now it wasn't love like this
You were just my best friend
Not the one for my kiss
Not to be my boyfriend

I watch over you
You watch over me
it isn't just us two
But there's still a you and me

I'm always there for you
I talk with you like no other
I'm with you through and through
Boy, I love you like a brother
