Analysis of If I Don't Wake
Richard Groff 1957 (Pottstown, Pa.)
If I don’t wake to see O LORD
To see another day
Then thank you for Your faithfulness
That led me in Your ways
Your mercy overwhelms me
Your grace is even better
That I could find the key to life
Here written in Your letter
Your word is everything to me
I could not go without it
I rise before the break of day
To learn and never doubt it
Happy are the ones who love
Because You loved them first
They eat Your flesh and drink Your blood
To satisfy their thirst
Before I ever knew You LORD
My life was not worth living
But now my days are filled with praise
And only true thanksgiving
