Analysis of Send strength

M.R.P 2000 (Bushbuckridge)

How deep are my growls
Eli, eli, lema sabachthani
Will Elijah or fire come down
Not even showers nor signs of clouds
And yet I can't sail this boat
Neither do I have fish to show
The faith is not little
Is there any faith at all
I try to wake you, are you dead?
Casting the demons, they fight back

For the better days dreamt
Was that a lesson for Job
Joseph, is prison your plan
Those 40 years, the best couldn't stand
On my knees, failing to keep my hands lifted

About this poem

Stuck. Like the fisherman who couldn't catch fish. Like Jesus on the cross, feeling forsaken. All the prayers seem unheard. Is all the tragedy all in the plans for the dream once showed, similar to what happened to Joseph? Or it's just a bad day/season, like Job? Staying in the fire with hands lifted until the last breath. If there's salvation or not, no to foreign gods.
